Happy Lunar New Year!

The ladies of alpha Kappa Delta Phi would like to wish everyone a Happy Lunar New Year in the Year of the Pig! We hope everyone has a happy and prosperous new year!

This year, Iota Chapter participated in volunteering for Tet Festival 2007, an annual event that celebrates the Vietnamese New Year. It was held at Hermann Square in Downtown. We were in charge of the Kids N' Tet craft section and we helped kids make paper dragons, paper lanterns, zodiac wheels, necklaces, fortune cookies, and other crafts.

As soon as pictures are uploaded, we will post pictures to this entry!

Welcome to Spring 2007!

Welcome to the brand new blog for alpha Kappa Delta Phi's Iota chapter at the University of Houston! Here you can find out what our sorority is all about and you can get insight into the lifestyle of a KDPhi. Learn more about our sorority, find out information about events, and leave us comments about what we do! We look forward to working with everyone in this upcoming semester!

alpha Kappa Delta Phi is the largest, strongest, and fastest-growin Asian interest sorority in the nation. With 43 chapters nationwide and more than 1000 sisters, the possibilities are endless! The purpose of our sorority is to promote sisterhood, scholarship, leadership, and Asian awareness throughout the University and the community, while encouraging the expression of the individual. It is our mission to provide sisterhood among women, and to promote our ideals. Further, to provide a support group for those in their times of need and to encourage the making of successful women. To accomplish our mission we will:

  • Maintain the highest levels of quality and integrity;
  • Create a climate that encourages teamwork, creativity, and innovations; and above all,
  • Give our absolute support and encouragement to those who we hold dear to our hearts - our sisters.

We will measure our success in how well we are regarded by our peers, represented by our community, and supported by our sisters.
